Scenic design rendering by Celia Shin

During the fall semester of my senior year, I was tasked with job leading a senior capstone production: Woyzeck. As job lead, I built this entire production’s set by myself, with my own two hands, working with the scenic designer Celia Shin to bring her vision to life. Our version of the production was heavily movement based and very physical. Moments of violence shook the room, but not the set. Technically designed and constructed to withstand a heavy and extremely mobile load, this set was sturdy as a mountain. It was an incredibly rewarding process, and I am grateful to have worked with this fantastic team.

In the process photos below, here are a few things to look out for: Custom CNCed deck, trap stairs with a hidden compartment, rubber diamond plated platforms, modified subway grating, modified and safety-proofed scrap metal & metal ceiling tiles
